Torning Lite on Torn's pages

by liharris30[2106022] Superadmin Updated estimates torning-lite extension filters notes

What the Torning Lite browser extension adds to Torn's own pages: battle stat estimates beside players, a filter for player lists, your own notes on players, and the bounty filter.

What it is

Torning Lite is Torning's browser extension. It puts your Torning menu in Torn's sidebar and adds a few things to Torn's own pages while you browse them.

Lite has no login of its own and never asks for your Torn API key. Sign in on Torning and accept the current Terms of Service and Privacy Policy there, and Lite pairs itself with your account. Everything it shows comes from Torning or from the page you already have open.

Lite only reads and marks the page in front of you. It never clicks, attacks, buys or fills anything in for you, and it never loads Torn pages in the background.

Battle stat estimates

Lite shows Torning's battle stat estimate beside players on profiles, the attack page, player lists and mini profiles. The Battle stat estimates (Beta) guide explains the chip, the colours and what the figures are built from. Estimates are free for every player who has paired Lite.

Filtering player lists

A Torning · Filter bar sits right above Torn's player lists: faction members (and war member lists), the hospital, the jail, search (the user list), people abroad, the Hall of Fame, and your friends, enemies and targets lists. It only appears where there is a list of players, never above faction news or other pages. It hides the rows you do not want and counts how many are left.

Every list has:

  • Activity: Online, Idle and Offline chips. Press one to hide or show those players.
  • Status: Okay, Hospital, Jail, Federal, Traveling and Abroad chips, always all six, with how many players each covers.
  • Level: a lowest and highest level.
  • Estimate, % of you: a lowest and highest estimate as a share of your own battle stats, when estimates are on and your own stats are on Torning.

Some lists have more:

  • Search, hospital, jail and abroad: Faction: no faction, in a faction, or one of the factions on screen.
  • Hospital and jail: Time left, a lowest and highest number of minutes.
  • Hospital: Revives on only, read from Torn's revive icon.
  • Faction members: Position chips, and Last action, from Torning: within a number of hours, and Revivable only. Torn's member list shows neither, so these use what Torning last synced.

An empty box means no limit. Clear filters puts everything back. Lite keeps your choices for each kind of list in this browser. A player whose value Lite cannot read, or Torning does not hold, is never hidden for it.

Your notes on players

Open a player's profile and use the Your note card to give them an Alias (up to 24 characters) and a Note (up to 200 characters), then press Save.

The alias then shows as a small tag on the line under their row on player lists, and after their name in their mini profile. With only a note, the tag reads Note. Point at the tag to read the note. Clear both boxes and save to remove it.

Notes never leave your browser: Torning does not see them, and they do not follow you to another browser. Forget my data under Tools › Daily in Lite's menu clears them along with Lite's other copies.

The bounty filter

On Torn's bounties page, Lite adds a bar above the list with Only Okay, Max level and Within my range, up to a share of your own battle stats. Each target gets a chip with their stats as a share of yours, from your spy reports first and then Torning's estimate. A target Torning has nothing on stays in the list with a ? and is queued for an estimate.

What items are worth

Lite adds a card that totals the items shown at Torning's market value, the same prices Torning uses everywhere, refreshed about every twenty minutes:

  • Your items page: Inventory worth, with a bar split by item type. On the Plushies or Flowers category it also shows how many of the museum's plushie set (13 plushies) or flower set (11 flowers) you hold, naming the ones you are missing.
  • Display cases: Display case worth.
  • Your faction's armoury: Armoury worth.
  • Bazaars: Bazaar worth, and a tag on each listing saying how its price compares with market value, such as 18% under or 3% over. Listings under market value get a green outline.

The card counts only the items on screen: on your items page that is the category you have open, and in a bazaar the items shown so far. An item without a market price is left out, and the card says how many were. Lite only reads prices and pictures off the page: it never buys, fills in an amount or presses anything.

Notifications

Lite can ring a browser notification at the moment something you are waiting for happens. Notifications start off: turn on Notifications under Tools › Daily in Lite's menu, then pick which alerts you want:

  • Energy full, Nerve full and Happy full (Happy starts off).
  • Cooldown ended: your drug, booster or medical cooldown.
  • Flight landed.
  • Out of hospital or jail.
  • Course finished.
  • New Torn day at 00:00 TCT (starts off).

The times come from what Torning last synced for you, the same times the dashboard shows, so an alert is only as fresh as that sync. Lite picks up new times once a minute while you have a Torn page open. An alert it has set still rings after you close Torn, as long as your browser is running. Alerts more than a day away wait for a fresher time.

Press Send a test to see how an alert looks. Recent alerts lists the last few, in Torn time. Each moment rings once, however many Torn tabs you have open. Lite asks Torn for nothing to do this.

Race telemetry

On Torn's racing page, while a race runs, Lite adds a line under each driver in Torn's leaderboard with their estimated speed, acceleration and lap, and two thin bars: the whole race and the current lap. A green acceleration figure means speeding up, red means slowing. Torn sends no car sensors, so Lite works these out from how fast Torn's progress figure moves; treat them as estimates.

Below the race, the Torning · Race panel has four tabs:

  • Driver: press the arrow on a driver's line to see their estimates, the time to the end of the lap at their last eight seconds' pace, and what Torning holds on them from your faction's races: racing skill, races, wins and their last places.
  • Track: the track's length, laps and Torn's own note on it, and the fastest lap records for the race class.
  • Your history: your races, wins, podiums and crashes, and your best lap on this track, from your faction's races on Torning.
  • Export: once every driver has finished or crashed, copy the results as CSV, for Discord or as JSON, or download a CSV.

Driver careers and your history come from the races your faction tracks on Torning, so they show once your faction uses Torning's racing. Lap records are Torn's public records and show for everyone. Torn's leaderboard, track and buttons stay as Torn draws them: Lite never picks a driver on the map, leaves a race or changes your car.

Small helpers

  • Faction mate warning: on the attack page, Lite says In your faction when the player is on your faction's roster as Torning last synced it. It only warns: it never stops or changes a fight.
  • Flight timer: while you fly, the Torn tab's title starts with a plane and the time left, so you can see it from another tab. It uses the landing time Torning synced and goes once you land.
  • Your links: under Tools › Daily, add up to 12 shortcuts to Torn pages with a name and a torn.com address. Only https torn.com addresses are kept, and they stay in this browser.

Turning things off

Untick Battle stat estimates (beta) under Tools › Daily in Lite's menu to hide estimates; the change shows on the next page you open. With estimates off, the list filter leaves out its estimate box.
