Terms of Service

1 Agreement and acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Torning, including the website, the Discord bot, userscripts, the Torning Lite browser extension and the Torning API (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Torning, run by the Torn player liharris30 [2106022] ("Torning", "we", "us").

By clicking Accept, signing in, installing Torning Lite, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy cover every part of the Service. Torning Lite and the userscripts have no separate terms, and you accept these once, on Torning.

How we collect, use and protect personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy , which you accept separately.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are not, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. You must also meet Torn's own age and eligibility requirements.

2 Definitions

Torn means the online game at torn.com and its operator.
API key means a key issued by Torn that lets software read game data on your behalf.
Account means the Torning account linked to your Torn player ID.
Faction leader means a member with leadership or management rights for a faction enrolled in Torning.
Pro and Ultra mean the paid membership tiers described in section 7.
Content means anything you submit to the Service, including guides, images, ratings, spy reports and Discord inputs.

3 Relationship with Torn

Torning is an independent third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by Torn. Torn's names and marks belong to their owners.

Torn's own terms and rules continue to apply to your Torn account. You are solely responsible for making sure your use of the Service complies with them. Torning is not responsible for any action Torn takes against your account.

4 Your account

You sign in with a Torn API key. Limited Access is the minimum; Full Access unlocks more features. If you turn on two-factor sign-in, signing in also needs a code from your authenticator app or one of your recovery codes; admins, superadmins and feedback maintainers must use it.
Each Torn player may hold one Account. You must only use API keys issued to your own Torn account.
You are responsible for keeping your API keys, sessions and Torning API tokens secure, and for all activity under your Account, including activity by userscripts or extensions you install.
Torning Lite has no Torn API key of its own. It runs only once its browser is paired with your Account, which happens when you open Torning while signed in, and only while you have accepted the current Terms and Privacy Policy. Signing out of Torning ends every pairing, and we may revoke one at any time.
Tell us promptly on the Torning Discord if you believe your Account or a key has been compromised.

5 API key authorisation

By submitting an API key you authorise Torning to use it to make read-only requests to the Torn API on your behalf, for as long as the key remains on file. This includes:

requests needed to run the features you, or your faction leaders, turn on;
requests for public game data (such as items, stocks, markets, factions and public profiles) shared across the Torning community, kept within per-key rate limits set below Torn's own limits;
where you contribute a key with faction access, requests for your faction's data on behalf of your faction.

The Torn API is read-only, so Torning cannot act in the game for you. Requests count towards your key's Torn rate limit. Your Torn Year in Review, and the one-off walks back through your history (such as for crime, combat and Hall of Fame insights), also count against Torn's daily limit on historic reads for your key, which every app using the key shares and which resets at midnight UTC. You may withdraw this authorisation at any time by deleting the key in Torn's preferences.

6 The Service

The Service provides analytics and tools for Torn, including personal insights, faction management, organised crimes, ranked wars, chains, payouts, competitions, racing, guides, a Discord bot, userscripts, a browser extension and an API. Some features are in beta, invite-only, or require Pro, Ultra or faction-level enablement.

We may add, change, suspend or remove any feature at any time, with or without notice.

7 Pro and Ultra membership

Pro and Ultra are paid for only in Torn in-game items. To buy either, you send Xanax to liharris30 [2106022] with the word "torning" in the message, followed by "pro" for Pro or "ultra" for Ultra. A message with "torning" alone buys Ultra. No real-world money is accepted or charged. In strict accordance with Torn's Real Money Trading rules, Torning does not buy, sell or exchange in-game assets for real-world money, cryptocurrency or off-game compensation.
You can buy Pro or Ultra for another player by adding "gift" and their Torn player ID to the message, for example "torning ultra gift 2106022". The time is theirs, not yours, and they can see that you sent it. If they have no account yet, it is credited when they first sign in.
The current prices are 5 Xanax per 30 days of Pro and 20 Xanax per 30 days of Ultra, credited pro rata. Prices and benefits may change; changes apply to payments made after the change.
Pro is personal: it shows your own full history, your crime, combat and Hall of Fame history included, and adds the travel restock forecast and trip planner, company what-if estimates and forecasts, company rival watch, and Day trading (minute-by-minute stock charts, ratings, a screener and stock alerts; Torning never buys or sells for you). Without it, history views show the last 3 months, and the data is still collected. Ultra includes Pro for the member who pays, and unlocks faction modules for the whole faction while that member is in its leadership. When that faction runs a faction family, it also unlocks the family extras (a shared spy pool, war assist, the family role, alerts and commands in each family faction's own Discord server, and a Discord server the family factions share) for every faction in the family; it does not unlock the other factions' own faction modules.
While Ultra is active, any Pro time you hold is paused and resumes when Ultra ends.
New accounts start with 14 days of Ultra for free, once per Torn player, while the welcome trial is running. We may pause it for new accounts at any time. We may also give free Pro or Ultra time to every member from time to time. Free time adds to any time you already hold and lapses the same way as paid time. Torning's admins hold Ultra, and its feedback maintainers Pro, for free for as long as they have the role, and it ends when the role does.
While a Torn event runs, eggs hide on Torning's pages. Finding one gives free Pro or Ultra hours, shown on the egg, and each Torn player can find a set number of eggs per TCT day. A found egg waits in your inventory and doesn't expire; its hours start when you use it. Eggs must be found by hand: scripts, auto-clickers and other automation aren't allowed, and finds that look automated are refused and can bar you from the hunt. Eggs have no cash or in-game item value and can't be traded. We may change the prizes, the number of eggs or the rules, or end the hunt, at any time, and may void eggs, including taking back hours already used, won by automation or by breaching these Terms.
A bug you report in Torning that an admin or a feedback maintainer confirms pays you 1 Xanax, once per bug, to the first player who reported it. Bounties are sent by hand in Torn at our discretion; duplicates and admins' own reports are not paid, and a bounty not yet sent is cancelled if the report turns out not to be a bug. Like eggs, bounties have no cash value.
In-game items have no real-world monetary value. Payments are final and non-refundable, including items sent without the required message, to the wrong player, as a gift naming the wrong player, or in error, except where applicable law requires otherwise. We may, at our discretion, move a payment sent with the wrong tier word to the tier you meant.
When a membership lapses, its features and faction modules switch off automatically. Data they collected may be kept or removed at our discretion.
We may suspend or end a membership without refund if you breach these Terms.

8 Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

use the Service in breach of any law or of Torn's rules;
use the Service, its API, userscripts or tools to automate gameplay on Torn, perform automated in-game actions, simulate clicks or keypresses in breach of Torn's 1:1 action rule, bypass verification systems or captchas, or scrape Torn web pages;
submit an API key or token that is not yours, or access another player's data without their permission;
scrape, crawl, overload, probe or attack the Service, or bypass its rate limits, feature gates, visibility settings or security;
copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the Service, except where law expressly allows it;
harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone, or post unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit material, through the website, guides or the Discord bot;
use the Service to cheat, scam or defraud other players, including through payouts, giveaways, vault requests or loans;
resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

9 Your Content

You keep ownership of your Content. You grant Torning a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt and distribute your Content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This licence lasts while the Content remains on the Service and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups.

You confirm that you have all rights needed to submit your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. We may review, refuse, edit or remove any Content, and guides may need approval before they are published.

10 Faction leaders and Discord server admins

If you enrol a faction, enable a faction module, link a Discord server or configure bot commands, you do so on behalf of that faction or server and are responsible for those choices and for how members use them.

Payout splits, organised crime plans, war targets, battle stat estimates, alerts and other calculations are provided for guidance only. Game drop rates, item probabilities and mechanics reference Torn's public odds disclosures. You remain responsible for verifying them and for any in-game decisions or transfers you make.

11 Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Torn, Discord, YATA, TornStats and Torn Activity Tracker. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct.

12 Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text and branding, is owned by Torning or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own play in Torn. All other rights are reserved.

13 Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. Maintenance, Torn API changes or outages, or events outside our control may cause downtime or data gaps.

14 Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your key in Torn. You can delete your Account yourself from Privacy & data in your Account settings. It is erased seven days after you ask, and you can change your mind by signing in before then.

Accounts that have been inactive for 180 days, or never used in the 7 days after signing in, may be automatically deleted, unless the player holds an active Pro or Ultra subscription. Using the website, Torning Lite, a userscript or the Discord bot counts as activity; background syncs on your key do not. Stored data for factions that have been un-enrolled for 90 days is automatically wiped, unless a faction leader or co-leader holds an active Pro or Ultra subscription.

We may suspend, block or delete your Account, remove your API keys, disable features or refuse service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, pose a risk to the Service or others, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 7 (refunds), 9, 12 and 15 to 20 survive termination.

15 Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, satisfactory quality and non-infringement.

Torning is not responsible for any in-game loss, including lost money, items, points, stats, wars, chains, crimes, respect, payouts or account standing, arising from reliance on the Service.

16 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Torning will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, profit, goodwill or in-game assets. Torning's total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to 50 GBP.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

17 Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Torning harmless from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of any law or of Torn's rules.

18 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, we will raise the version number and ask you to accept the new Terms before you continue using the Service. Until you accept, background syncing of your personal data and Torning Lite pause. If you do not accept, you must stop using the Service.

19 Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, and you and Torning submit to it.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms removes any protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country. These Terms apply worldwide to the extent permitted by the laws that apply to you.

20 General

Entire agreement. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and Torning about the Service and replace any earlier version.
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in force.
No waiver. A delay or failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to anyone who takes over the Service.
Third parties. No one other than you and Torning has any right to enforce these Terms, including under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
Events outside our control. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Language. These Terms are written in English. If a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails.
