Tools and the OC Schedule userscript

by liharris30 tools userscript oc torn-pda

How to install the OC Schedule userscript so your organised crime assignment shows on Torn, and how it signs in, including inside Torn PDA.

The Tools page

Tools collects the ways Torning reaches beyond its own website. It has two cards:

  • OC Schedule: a userscript that shows your organised crime assignment on Torn's faction page. Its Install userscript button installs it.
  • Discord bot: your schedule, reminders and faction alerts in Discord. Discord settings takes you to Account › Discord, which has its own guide.

Anyone signed in to Torning can open the Tools page.

Installing the userscript

The userscript needs a userscript manager in your browser: Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey.

  1. Install Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey from your browser's extension store.
  2. Sign in to Torning in the same browser.
  3. Go to Tools and click Install userscript on the OC Schedule card.
  4. Your userscript manager opens its install screen for Torning - OC Schedule. Confirm the install.
  5. Open your faction's Crimes tab on Torn.

There is no API key to paste. The script uses your Torning sign-in (see below). Your userscript manager checks Torning for new versions of the script and updates it for you.

What it shows on Torn

On Torn's faction page, on the Crimes tab only, the script adds an OC Assignment panel just above the first crime. It is the same assignment your Torning dashboard shows.

  • You're in: the crime you have joined and your role, when it executes (or when you joined, or "Paused by leadership"), and your progress.
  • Join now: the seat Torning recommends for you, with its pass rate. A pass rate starting with ~ is an estimate.
  • Up next: shown instead of Join now when you are already in a crime. It is the seat to take once your current crime finishes.

Click a row to jump to that crime on the page. The script highlights the exact role slot you should take.

Tips

  • Click the panel's header to collapse or expand it. The browser remembers your choice.
  • The panel refreshes every 5 minutes, and follows Torn's light or dark theme.
  • If no crimes are listed on the page, the panel floats in the bottom-right corner instead.
  • "Nothing assigned right now" means you are not in a crime and no open seat currently matches your history.
  • The panel only has something to show when your faction has been activated on Torning and its organised crimes are being tracked.

How it signs in

When you sign in to Torning, it saves a sign-in cookie in your browser that the userscript can use. It lasts up to a year.

  • The cookie belongs to the browser you last signed in with. Signing in to Torning on another browser or device moves it there, so the script in the first browser stops working until you sign in there again.
  • Sign out removes it, so the script stops showing your data too.
  • When Torning's Terms of Service or Privacy Policy change, the script stops working until you accept the new versions on the website.

If the panel says Sign in to Torning to see your assignment, sign in to Torning in that browser and reload the Torn page.

Using it in Torn PDA

Inside the Torn PDA app the sign-in cookie is not available, so the script uses the Torn API key you have set in Torn PDA instead. PDA fills it in automatically.

  • The key must belong to a Torn player who has a Torning account.
  • "Torn key not linked to a Torning account" means Torning has no account for the player that key belongs to. Sign in to the Torning website once first.
  • "Add your Torn API key in Torn PDA settings" means PDA has no key to give the script.

Your key is only used to find your Torning account, and only for the OC assignment.
