Faction accounting
A tour of the Accounting page: its six workspaces, what each view shows and what treasurers can change, plus how members categorise their own trades and sales. For faction leaders, treasurers and armoury managers.
Who can use Accounting
Faction › Accounting is a full set of books for your faction: the faction bank, member balances, payouts, organised crime and war income, the armoury and investor money, all built from the data Torning syncs from Torn.
Accounting is rolling out to selected factions. If your faction has access, the page opens when all of these are true:
- someone in your faction's leadership (Leader, Co-leader or a Leader-marked position) holds Ultra. The whole faction benefits, nobody else needs it;
- a leader has switched the Accounting module on in Faction › Settings › Manage;
- you are a leader, or your position has the View accounting permission.
Changing anything (payouts, categories, write-offs, budgets, investors, armoury settings, approving requests) needs Manage accounting or leadership. Give a treasurer both View and Manage: Manage on its own does not open the page.
If your faction is not included yet, the page says Accounting is coming soon.
Finding your way around
The page has six workspaces, listed down the side: Executive, Financials, Operations, Armoury, Capital and Tools. Each workspace has its own row of views. The workspace and view are kept in the address, so you can bookmark or share a view.
The controls at the top apply to every view:
- Quarter: the live quarter, a past quarter, all time, or a custom range.
- Date range: pick any start and end date.
- Sync: refreshes the faction balance and accounting data from Torn now instead of waiting for the next scheduled sync.
- New payout (Manage accounting): records a manual payout. See Financials below.
Clicking a ledger entry anywhere opens the Ledger entry drawer. Clicking an armoury give opens the Item give drawer. Both are described under Financials.
Executive
Every Executive view starts with the headline tiles: Total tangible assets, Faction funds, Gross revenue, Net position, Armoury valuation, Member custody, Crime revenue and Solvency grade.
Overview
The Accountant's statement for the period, written for you from the figures. Treasurers can rewrite it and press Save statement, or go back with Reset to generated. Below it: revenue channels, armoury departments, investors and obligations, crime operations, solvency and exposure ratios (liquidity buffer, debt coverage, loan utilisation, vault health) and net assets.
Scorecard
The faction's solvency score out of 100 and its grade, broken down into scored pillars on a radar chart.
Milestones
Goals tracked live against the report. Treasurers press Add milestone, give it a Title, pick the Tracked figure (for example total tangible assets, available faction funds, organised crime revenue, faction points, respect, roster size or investor capital repaid) and set a Target. The Pace forecaster estimates when money goals will be reached at a daily surplus you can adjust.
Stress test
Slide a Member bank run (share of member custody withdrawn at once), an Armoury price move and Investor debt repaid to see the stressed grade, liquid buffer and whether every withdrawal could be honoured. Reset clears it. Nothing is saved.
Financials
Cash flow
Every ledger entry in the period: balance moves, armoury gives, uses and deposits. Tiles total entries, money paid to members, clawbacks and member custody moved. Filter by Status (Pending, Logged, Unknown, Resolved), Category or Member.
Treasurers can tick several entries, choose a category and press Apply to recategorise them all at once.
The Ledger entry drawer
Click an entry to open it. With Manage accounting you can:
- change its Category (OC payout, War payout, Xanax program, Armoury purchase, Mercenary, Revive, Prize, Loan, Manual income, Manual expense, Deposit, Withdrawal or Uncategorised);
- add a leader Note;
- link it to an armoury give, or unlink one;
- Mark as resolved, and Reopen it later;
- Write off with an optional reason to hide it from the list. A written-off entry can be restored.
Payouts
Approved payouts that have not been paid yet, their total and the largest one. A pending payout is carried as a liability until Torning sees the matching give in your faction news, then it flips to paid.
To make one, press New payout at the top of the page:
- Pick a Category and, if you like, a Reason.
- Add recipients one by one, or Add all.
- Type each amount, or enter a Split total to share one sum equally.
- Press Approve payout, then pay the members in Torn.
Click a payout to see it, and cancel it while it is still pending. Closing an organised crime payout cycle on Crime setup adds its payouts here too.
This view also lists Pending Expense Reimbursements that members raised with /banking register-reimbursement in Discord, with their reason and receipt. Open Torn's give-money form with the amount filled in, approve (which records a payout and tells the member) or reject with a reason that is sent to the member by Discord DM.
Inventory log
A hand-kept log of armoury items sold, moved to or from the faction safe, and cash moved. Treasurers press Log entry and choose Sell, Move to safe, Return to faction, Cash to safe or Cash to faction. A sale can be marked as sold out of the safe and linked to an armoury give.
Import takes rows pasted straight from a spreadsheet, tab or comma separated, in the order Date, Item, Action, Qty, Unit Price, Manual Price, Total Value, Notes. A header row is ignored and a row already logged for the same day is skipped. You see every row before anything is saved.
Sales
What items given out of the armoury were sold for, against their market value: settled revenue, slippage, unsettled gives, sales by channel and the worst executions.
Statements
- Balance sheet: the statement of financial position, reconciliation, vault composition and solvency ratios. Click an account to see what sits behind it.
- Income statement: income against member payouts, with member custody and uncategorised entries kept out of the net.
- Statement: a formal treasury statement for the period with a Print statement button.
- Journal: the full general ledger, searchable.
- Waterfall: how gross inflows become faction funds after payouts and commitments, plus daily cash flows. Member deposits are custody, not revenue, so they sit outside the inflows.
- Comparative: the key figures side by side across several quarters, with growth and insights.
Operations
Crimes
Organised crime economics for the period: revenue, average and highest payout, success rate, a crime leaderboard by member, the biggest heists, the full crime log, which squads earn most together, and results by difficulty tier.
Points
The faction points treasury: current points and their market value, refills used, and price history. The Ranked war points budgeter works out the points and refills a war needs from the hits you plan and the war's length.
Below that are two logs treasurers keep by hand:
- Points log: press Log points and record a Reconcile, Transfer or Adjustment. Torning compares the running total with the latest balance from Torn and shows the variance. Start by reconciling, then log movements as they happen.
- Budgets: Add budget sets an amount for an expense category for the period, and spend is tracked from the ledger. Log spend records money spent outside the ledger.
Trends
A chart of the key figures over time, daily cash flows, how the armoury's value moved between snapshots, and a day-by-day table of net assets, funds, crime income and money in and out.
Ranked wars
War income, what the faction kept, what was paid to members and net war economics after mercenaries and revives, with a per-war table, rewards and chains.
Armoury
Stock
The armoury's value, what is in it, what is out with members and what is waiting to be sold, by department, with turnover per item. In the holdings table, treasurers can star an item as Standard (something the faction keeps in stock) and set the quantity it should hold.
Requests
Armoury requests members raise with /armory request in Discord. Press Approve or Decline; the card in Discord updates to match. The view also counts open vault requests (settled on Discord or the Bank tab) and pending reimbursements (handled on Financials › Payouts).
OC items
Every item organised crimes use, which crimes need it, how many you hold and who has each one. Items you do not have show as missing.
Restock
Items below their target, what restocking would cost at today's prices and at the period's lows, buy-now signals, a price tracker and how fast each class of item is used. Copy purchase order copies a ready-made shopping list. Under Stock warnings you can add any item from the catalogue, even one you hold none of, and set the level to Warn below.
Watchdog
Stock that never moved in the period (dormant capital) against stock that did, and a watchlist of equipment that has been out with a member for a long time.
War chest
Enter active fighters, war length in days and a daily revive budget to see what a war would cost, the daily burn, what restocking would cost and how long your stock would last. Copy restock BBCode copies the list for the Torn forums.
Custody
Equipment on loan to members: who holds what, its value, and what has been paid back. Treasurers use Log repayment to record a member paying for an item.
Auto-log
Items on this list are marked Logged when a member uses or fills one from the armoury, instead of ageing into Unknown. Turn on a whole group, or search the catalogue to add single items. Gives always stay resolvable.
The Item give drawer
Click a give to see who received it, its estimated value and how much has been recovered. Treasurers can attach a deposit to record the recovery, write the give off, or mark No deposit expected, and restore it later.
Capital
Balances
Every change to members' faction balances in the period, as a table you can filter.
Investors and obligations
Money the faction owes. Press Add investor and choose a kind: Investor, Armoury investor (a member who bought equipment for the faction), Bank loan, Owed to another faction or Other obligation. Each line tracks principal, share, interest rate, interest accrued, repaid and outstanding.
- Log repayment records a payment against one line.
- Pay out splits a lump sum across every open line, either by share of capital invested or by share of what is still owed. You see each amount before it is logged.
- The Payoff simulator shows when the faction would be debt free at a daily crime yield and share you choose.
Custody
The money members hold in the faction vault: total custody, the largest holders, a directory of every member's balance and points, itemised deposits, and gives made by officers.
Member statement
Pick a member to see their custody balance, crime income, equipment held, armoury use, any investor line and recent activity for the period. Copy BBCode and Copy Discord copy the statement so you can send it to them.
Tools
Audit
A searchable treasury activity feed, top recipients, depositors and armoury contributors, who has been giving from the vault and adjusting balances, blood bag and medical production, the armoury activity stream, organised crime cuts and member engagement.
Forensic
A control scan scored out of 100 (ten controls, two points off per warning and five per failure), a bank-run test showing what you could pay if custody were withdrawn at once, and concentration risk.
Pro-forma
Project the next two periods by adjusting crime revenue growth, sales growth, an expense multiplier, surplus put toward investor debt and armoury price drift. Copy Discord briefing copies a summary.
Export
The statement exporter turns a report into text you can post. Choose a Statement (Executive summary, Balance sheet, Crime leaderboard, Restock order, Investor schedule or Member statement) and a Format (Torn forum BBCode or Discord markdown), then press Copy.
Categorising your trades and sales
When the faction gives you items to sell, Accounting tries to match what you sold against the give. Two pages let you correct it for your own account. They are linked from the Item give drawer ("Trade miscounted?" and "Bundled sale?"), and any signed-in member can open them. Both look back 90 days.
Categorise trades
Lists your Torn trades. For each one, pick:
- Auto: Torning decides whether the trade is a sale or a war settlement. This is the default.
- Personal: your own trade, never counted toward the faction.
- Faction: counts toward the faction's sales. If it was part of a ranked-war settlement, choose the war in the Settlement list, or leave it on "No · regular sale".
Categorise sales
Lists your item market, shop and bazaar sales of items the faction gave you. If you sold a bundle where only some units were faction stock, set Faction qty to that number. Without a change, every unit counts as faction stock.
Trade Movements consent
Both pages, and the faction's matching of bank gives against sales, rely on Trade Movements: your consent for Torning to read your item market, shop, bazaar and trade logs. Leaders can ask you for it from the Manage page, and the request appears on your dashboard to Accept or Decline. You can withdraw it at any time on Account › Data sharing. It only does anything while your faction has Ultra in its leadership and Accounting switched on.
