Your dashboard and daily checklist

by liharris30 getting-started dashboard checklist discord

What every card on your dashboard shows and what it needs, and how to set up the daily checklist so it tracks what matters to you.

The Home area

Home has two pages:

  • Home › Dashboard: how you are doing right now (bars, cooldowns, money), your faction's chain, flight and war when there is one, your organised crime, and charts of your progress.
  • Home › Checklist: your daily to-do list, built from your own Torn data and reset at Torn midnight (TCT).

Most of both pages sit behind the Daily Checklist permission. The first time you open either page you see a "Permission Required" card listing exactly what Torning will pull from Torn (bars, cooldowns, cash and points, education, missions, unread counts, job points, profile icons, bounties, casino tokens and refills, equipment and ammo, property upkeep, hospital or jail status, unspent merits, plushies and flowers, and company figures if you are a director). Press Grant access to turn it on. You can revoke it any time on Account › Data sharing.

Times follow the TCT / Local switch in the top bar.

Top of the dashboard

The header shows your name, level and your current state as a badge (Okay, Hospital, Jail, Federal jail, Travelling, Abroad, Racing or Coding), with a countdown when the state has an end time. View on Torn opens your Torn profile.

Two cards only appear when they apply:

  • Access requested: your faction's leadership has asked for your Trade Movements data so the faction ledger can match bank payouts against your sales. Press Accept or Decline. Leaders see the same card as Enable access.
  • Install Torning: on phones and small screens, from your second visit, you are offered to install Torning to your home screen. Not now hides it for 30 days.

Trend tiles

A strip of three tiles shows the last 14 days as small sparklines. Each tile links to the full page.

TileShowsNeeds
Stat gainsTotal battle stats gained over 14 daysBattle Stats Insights
Gym energyEnergy spent in the gym over 14 daysBattle Stats Insights
PortfolioLatest stock portfolio valueStocks Portfolio

A tile you have not unlocked reads Locked and names the permission. Grant it from the matching page (Insights › Battle stats or Insights › Stocks). Right after granting, a tile says "Building your history" while your past logs are imported.

Vitals and Wallet

Both cards need the Daily Checklist permission and refresh every minute.

Vitals

  • Your state with a short explanation and the things it stops you doing (for example, hospital blocks attacking, travelling and most items).
  • Energy, Nerve, Happy and Life bars, with a countdown to full where Torn gives one.
  • Drug, Medical and Booster cooldowns, plus whether today's Energy refill, Nerve refill and Token refill have been used.
  • "synced ... ago" in the corner tells you how fresh the data is.

Wallet

  • Networth: Torn's own daily figure, so it can lag by up to a day. It leaves out money held by your faction.
  • A bar showing where your money sits: Cash on hand, Vault, Bank (when you have a deposit) and In faction (when you are in a faction).
  • Your bank deposit and a countdown to when it matures. The bank figures come from the Stocks Portfolio permission, so this part only shows if you have granted that.
  • Points, and Faction points if you hold any.

Chain, travel and war cards

These cards only appear when there is something to say, and disappear otherwise. They need the Daily Checklist permission.

  • Chain: shown while your faction's chain is running or cooling down. It shows hits against the next bonus and counts down to the chain timer lapsing. The countdown turns amber once it drops below your warning threshold, and the card reads "Timer lapsed" if it runs out. That threshold is the same one you set on the Chain timer checklist row.
  • Travel: shown while you are flying or abroad. It counts down to landing and shows how far through the flight you are.
  • Ranked war: shown while your faction has a war declared or running, and for 3 days after it ends. It shows both scores, how much each side needs to win, a countdown to the start and when the scores last synced. Click it to open the war page. It only appears if your faction syncs ranked wars on Torning.

Organised crime cards

These come from your faction's sync, so they show even if you have not granted the Daily Checklist permission.

  • My OC assignment: the crime you are in ("You're in") with its progress and when it executes, and the next seat lined up for you ("Up next", or "Join now" if you are not in one), with its pass rate. A pass rate starting with "~" is an estimate from crime stats. If nothing matches, the card says so.
  • My OC pay: what you are accruing in the faction's open payout cycle, and your recent payouts as columns coloured by status (Pending, Paid, Cancelled).

Growth chart

The Growth card charts one reading a day. Pick a series:

  • Wealth: everything you hold, stacked: wallet, vault, banked, items, property and stocks, points, and money in your faction.
  • Battle stats: your total across all four stats.
  • In faction: money and points parked with your faction (only offered if you are in one).

Pick a range: 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or All time. Without Pro you can use 30 and 90 days; 1 year and All time need Pro. Torning still records your history either way, so it is all there if you upgrade later.

A new account shows "Building your history" until there are at least two daily readings. The card can be collapsed and remembers that.

Reading the checklist

Open Home › Checklist. The card header shows how many rows need doing. Rows are grouped into sections and each one has a status:

StatusMeaning
Do itNeeds doing now
WaitingOn a timer, with a countdown (a cooldown, a course, a flight)
DoneNothing to do today
No dataTorning cannot read it yet, with the reason (for example "Needs a Full Access key")

Three filters sit above the rows:

  • Do it now (the default): only rows that need doing.
  • On a timer: rows waiting on a timer, with a strip showing what comes off a timer in the next 24 hours.
  • Everything: every row, including done and skipped ones.

Most rows link straight to the right page in Torn (in a new tab). The data refreshes every minute.

The 7-day strip

Last 7 days shows one column per day, today last, for the share of your checklist you finished. Green means everything was done, amber means some was left, grey means no checklist that day. Hover a column for "x of y done".

Checklist sections

Rows are tracked automatically from your Torn data. A row that does not apply to you is simply not shown.

My list

Your own to-dos (see below).

Faction rows need your faction to be active on Torning. Position permissions are set by leaders on Faction › Settings › Manage.

Company

Everyone in a company sees Company at full capacity and Employees in federal jail. Directors also get Train employees, Daily profit, Stock running low, Popularity, Employee effectiveness and Inactive employees.

Casino

Wheel of Lame, Wheel of Mediocrity, Wheel of Awesome, Token refill and Unspent casino tokens.

Goals

Daily targets you set yourself: Busts, Revives, Bounties collected, Races, Xanax and Faction respect gained. Each row counts today's total against your target, and some also track a longer milestone and estimate how many days away it is at your pace. Goals is off by default; switch it on in Configure.

Skipping and your own rows

Skip for today

A row showing "Do it" has a small cross button: Skip for today. It moves out of Do it now until Torn midnight. To bring it back, switch to Everything and press the undo arrow on the row.

Adding your own rows

  1. Press Configure in the card header.
  2. Under My list, type into "Add a daily to-do of your own" and press Add.
  3. Press Done to leave Configure.

You can have up to 10 rows of your own, each up to 60 characters. They show "Do it" every day; tick one off with its check button and it reads done until Torn midnight brings it back. To delete one, open Configure and press Remove beside it.

Configuring the checklist

Press Configure to see every section and row, whatever filter you had on. Press Done when finished. Changes save as you make them.

  • Hide a section: use the switch beside the section name. A hidden section shows "Turned off. Use Configure to bring it back."
  • Hide a row: use the switch beside the row.
  • Priority: every row has a slider from 0 to 100. Rows sort by priority within their section, and the coloured edge on each row reflects it.
  • Thresholds: many rows let you choose when they fire, for example "Remind me when energy reaches", "Warn me when my wallet goes over", "Warn me when the chain has less than" or a Goals row's "Daily target".
  • Ping me on Discord: see the next section.

Discord pings for a row

Any built-in row can DM you on Discord when it turns to "Do it". Rows of your own cannot be pinged.

First set up Discord DMs:

  1. Link your Discord account on Account › Discord (the Connection card).
  2. In the Reminders card on the same page, press Grant access to turn on the Personal Alerts permission.

Until both are done, Configure shows "Discord pings off" and the ping switches are greyed out.

Then press Configure and turn on Ping me on Discord under any row. How pings behave:

  • The row has to still be due a minute later, so a row that flickers for one sync never pings you.
  • After a ping, that row stays quiet until it stops being due, or until a new Torn day starts. An all-day row (like praying at church) pings at most once a day.
  • A row you have hidden or skipped for today does not ping.
  • The DM carries the row's details with an Open in Torn button where the row links to Torn, and a Checklist button back to this page.

Turning a ping off always works, even if you have since unlinked Discord.
