Insights: battle stats, networth and stocks
How to unlock and read the Insights pages: battle stat charts, the networth views (advisor, goals, money flow, rankings and the simulator) and the stocks market and portfolio tabs.
Who can see Insights
Insights is built from your own Torn data, so each page needs a certain API key level and a permission you grant once.
| Page | API key | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Insights › Battle stats | Full Access | Battle Stats Insights |
| Insights › Networth | Full Access | Income Insights |
| Insights › Stocks, Market tab | Limited | Stocks Portfolio |
| Insights › Stocks, Performance tab | Full Access | Stocks Insights |
The whole Insights area is locked if your key is below Limited. A page that needs a better key shows Add a key, which takes you to the key upgrade screen.
The first time you open a page you see what Torning will pull (mostly categories of your Torn log) and a Grant access button. After granting, Torning imports your past logs; cards show a "building" state until that finishes. You can revoke any permission on Account › Data sharing.
History and Pro
Torning collects your full history for everyone. Without Pro, the charts on these pages only go back to the start of the day three calendar months ago. With Pro you can look back as far as your history goes.
- The date range picker in each page header offers presets (This month, Last month, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, All). Presets that reach further back than your window are locked and open the Pro dialog.
- If you open a link or bookmark with an older start date, it is pulled forward to the earliest day you can see.
Pro is bought from Pro and Ultra in the account menu.
Battle stats
Open Insights › Battle stats. In the header you can pick which stats to show (All stats, or any of Strength, Defense, Speed and Dexterity, then Apply) and a date range. The range opens on the last year (trimmed to your history window without Pro). Every card follows both, except Effective Stats, which shows your current figures.
A toolbar under the header switches between five views: Overview, Growth, Training, Forecast and Build. The view you pick is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark it.
Overview
- Period Summary: the number of days in the range, your average daily gain, a 90-day forecast at that pace, and two bars splitting the gain and the energy spent between the stats.
- Records: your best day and best week of gains, your biggest single-stat day and your biggest energy day in the range, each with its date. Gains here count every source, not just the gym.
- Stat Comparison: each stat at the start and end of the range, the gain in between and the energy it took, with an All stats total at the top.
Growth
- Battle Stat Growth: each stat over time, with its current value above the chart. Where icons appear on the line, hover them to see gains from books, stat enhancers and other special sources.
- Gain Sources: where your stat gains came from: Gym, Stat Enhancer, Consumables, Book, Job, Company and Overdose (which can be negative). Group it Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
Training
- Energy Usage: gym energy spent on each stat, grouped Daily, Weekly or Monthly. Daily is only offered for ranges up to a year, and Weekly for ranges up to five years.
- Gym Efficiency: how much of each stat a point of gym energy bought over the range, with the bars measured against your most efficient stat and a week-by-week line under each. Books, enhancers and job points are left out because they cost no energy.
- Training Rhythm: how many days in the range you trained, your current and longest run of training days, the energy you spend on a training day, and your energy by weekday. Days are Torn days; today only counts once you train, so a run that reached yesterday is still live.
Forecast
Forecast Model takes your pace over the selected range and projects each stat 90 days ahead. Each bar runs from where the stat is now to where that pace takes it, with the date the forecast reaches.
Build
Effective Stats sets each base stat against what your modifiers (education, merits, faction, job, property and so on) make of it in a fight, with an All stats total. Open Modifiers under a stat to see each one. It needs your battle stats shared: open Visibility from the account menu and set Battle Stats to anything but Private.
Networth basics
Open Insights › Networth. The page opens on the last 90 days; change it with the date range picker in the header. A toolbar switches between six views: Advisor, Wealth, Money flow, Ledger, Rankings and Simulator. The view you pick is kept in the page address, so you can bookmark it.
On Money flow and Ledger a Source filter narrows everything to the sources you tick (for example Crimes, Organised crimes, Casino, Market, Trades, Travel, Racing, Missions, Faction, Job, Property, Stocks, Stock dividends, Bank). Chips show the active sources; Clear removes them all.
Wealth readings are taken every hour, and your past is imported day by day after you grant Income Insights, so a new account fills in over time.
Advisor
The Advisor view has three cards.
Where You Stand
Your networth and how fast it is moving per day, your standing against other players where there is one, progress on your networth goal, and how much of your wealth is liquid (what you could spend without selling). A one-line summary sits underneath, and the full explanation is in the expandable text below it.
Your targets
Press Set a goal (or Add a goal once you have one) to open Track a goal:
- Optionally press a milestone under Start from a milestone to adopt it straight away at today's price. The milestones are Fill the bank, Buy a benefit block, Own a Private Island, Hold a war chest, Empty your wallet and Stay out of the casino; up to three you have not reached yet are offered.
- Or choose What are you tracking: Networth, Bank balance, Stock portfolio, Property value, Liquid cash, Points held, Wallet ceiling or Casino losses.
- Enter the Target (or Keep it under for Wallet ceiling and Casino losses). Shorthand works: 2b, 750m, 1.5b.
- For most goals, optionally set Hit it by. Casino losses instead uses Measured over: the last 7, 30 or 90 days.
- Press Save goal.
Your networth goal gets a ring with your pace against the pace you need and a projected arrival date. Other goals show as smaller rows. You can track up to 6 goals. Use Adjust goal to edit one, and Clear this goal in the dialog to remove it.
What To Do About It
A list of findings about your money, each marked Critical, Warning or Opportunity, with what it is worth, the suggested action and links (into Torning, or Open in Torn). Some findings offer Track this as a goal. Expand a finding for the reasoning.
- Press Dismiss (or the cross) to hide a finding you do not care about. Dismissed findings collect under Dismissed at the bottom, where Restore brings them back.
- Looking good lists the checks you passed.
- Advice about spending, income mix and item turnover needs a range of two weeks or more; on a shorter range the card tells you some checks are paused.
Wealth
- What You Are Worth: your networth over the range, stacked by what it is made of, with the change in each part since the start of the range. Click a part's tile to drop it out of the chart and click again to bring it back.
- Net By Source: what each money source added or took away over the range.
- What Moved Your Networth: a step-by-step breakdown from your opening to closing networth, compared with the same length of time before it. Money moved between your own holdings (for example cash spent on shares) can show under "unaccounted", and the card explains how to read it.
- What Moved In Items: items you acquired and disposed of, priced at what each move actually fetched.
- What The Item Market Did: the biggest item price risers and fallers over the range. This is the market as a whole, not your own items.
Money flow and Ledger
Money flow
- Money In And Out: money earned and spent over time with the running net. While your past logs are still importing, it shows how many sources have been imported so far.
- Where It Came From And Went: everything you earned and everything you spent, split by source.
Ledger
Daily Breakdown opens with your totals earned, spent and net (compared with the period before), followed by a day-by-day table (Day, Source, In, Out, Net and Events) that you can sort and filter by source. Both views respect the Source filter.
Rankings
Rankings shows where your money sources sit against other players. It is anonymous both ways: no other player is shown to you, and your position is not shown to anyone else.
- To take part, turn on Rankings under Participation in Visibility (in the account menu). The card has an Open visibility settings button. Only players who take part can see the rankings.
- Rankings use fixed windows of 7, 30 or 90 days, worked out once a day, so the page's date picker does not change them.
- Where available, you can compare against All players or just players around your level.
- "Not enough players yet" means the pool is still too small to rank anyone without identifying them.
Simulator
The Simulator runs your current networth forward to see where it ends up.
- Pick a horizon: 30d, 90d, 180d or 1y. Checkpoint tiles show the scenario against your current pace.
- In Scenario, choose Per source to dial each income source up or down from what you actually earned in the selected range, or Flat rate to type your own Net per day (shorthand like 25m works).
- Under Where surplus goes, split spare money between City Bank, Stocks and Cash. Choose a Bank term (it assumes you roll the deposit over at maturity) and an Assumed stock return per year (starts at zero, since Torn stocks mostly pay dividends rather than grow).
- Under One-off events, press Add for a purchase or sale on a given day (up to 6), for example a Private Island at -2b.
When You Get There shows when the scenario reaches your goals and milestones, compared with your current pace. What Carries It shows which sources drive the result. Reset puts everything back. A short date range gives a warning, because a few days of logs cannot tell a habit from a quiet week.
Stocks: Market tab
Open Insights › Stocks. The Market tab needs a Limited key and the Stocks Portfolio permission (your holdings and bank balance). Right after granting, it shows a building state until your first stock and bank sync lands.
The table has four views, picked with the icon buttons above it (hover for the name):
| View | What it lists |
|---|---|
| All | Every stock with price, shares you own, its dividend and type |
| Profitability | Cash, volatile and random-payout stocks, one row per benefit block, with payout, cost and annual ROI, plus a Bank row to compare against |
| Utilities | Stocks whose payout is nerve, energy or happy (CBD, EVL and MCS), priced by what that would cost to get another way, with a recommendation score instead of a plain ROI |
| Passive | Stocks with a passive perk, one row each |
Search by stock name, sort the columns, filter by Type (All and Profitability views) and by Purchased or Not purchased. Hover an ROI figure to see how many days it takes to break even.
Bank deposit and ROI calculator
On Profitability, the Bank row is a calculator you can edit in place:
- Cost: the deposit, from $1m to $3b (default $2b). Type it in full or as 500m, 2b and so on.
- Increment: the term (1w, 2w, 1m, 2m or 3m).
- Bank Interest: your merit level from 0 to 10, filled in from your own merits on your first visit.
The ROI updates from Torn's current bank rates so you can compare the bank directly with stock blocks. If you have a deposit running, the row also shows it: invested amount, rate, profit at term, term and time left. Your calculator settings are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark them.
Stocks: Performance tab
The Performance tab needs a Full Access key and the Stocks Insights permission (your merits and your stock, special stock and bank logs). It follows the date range picker in the header.
- Portfolio Performance: your portfolio value against what it cost over time, with value, profit and cost at the top. Use the View stock dropdown to switch the chart, figures and meter between your whole portfolio and any individual stock you hold.
- Holdings Performance: a breakdown of every stock you currently hold. For each position it lists shares owned, current market price, average purchase cost across your open lots, current value, total cost basis, unrealised profit or loss (in dollars and as a percentage), and its share of your portfolio. Click any row or its Chart button to focus the performance chart and top figures on that stock.
- Stock activity: a tile for each stock you hold above its dividend threshold, showing progress through the payout cycle, days to the next payout and what it pays (or "Held, passive perk").
- Allocation: a pie of how your current holdings are split.
